We had Charter Communications come out for a "tech call" yesterday. We have been experiencing really slow, unreliable Internet for some time now. Long story short, it was our builders fault. For those of you who have heard our sagas as of late, this will NOT surprise you. When our tech showed me what was wrong and how it should be, I just laughed. He fixed the problem, tidied up the cables and installed a box to store them in. It was so nice to have the job, well done. ☺
Here is how a proper cable should look. It has a compression fitting. It helps keep everything snug and tight.
Here is what we had. The wires sticking out around the cable acted as an antennae. Anytime a frequency of any type was being used, it clogged and interfered with our cable. No wonder we had poor quality! You can't see it in this angle, but the fitting is completely smashed. No surprise here. ☺
Here they are right and wrong. It is amazing to see them side by side, what a difference!
