Space-tastic Party: The food.

No space party would be complete without space-like food!

Sun Chips: a bag of Sun Chips  (I didn't get a picture of these for some reason.)

Asteroids: Cap'n Crunch's Oops! All Berries
Constellations: mini marshmallows and pretzel sticks

Little Green Men: fun gummy aliens

Moon Rocks: Rice Krispies treats shaped into balls

Space Punch: 7-UP with lime sherbet

Saturn's Rings: Froot Loops

We can't forget the birthday cake! Every year Big Sis, asks for lemon cake. I thought it might be a little gross to put chocolate frosting on a lemon cake...I'm just sayin. With those thoughts, I decided to make a cake and cupcakes. The cupcakes were topped with a Saturn (Big Sis's favorite planet). I found large gumballs and placed a peach candy ring around the middle, perfect! Big Sis, on our weekend away had created her very own Solar System made out of Styrofoam balls. I was so proud of her craftiness, they were perfect for the cake. A little sprinkling of decorating sugar for stars, add a Space Shuttle and you have a cake perfect for a Space-tastic birthday party and a space loving Big Sis.

  1. so cute! so is it lemon cake under the chocolate frosting? I THINK this might be the easiest cake you've ever had to do! I'm just sayin', it hopefully wasn't as hard as Tasha head cupcakes ;)

  3. Yes Jordan, EASIEST cake ever! I wish they would all be that easy. There is yellow cake under that chocolate frosting and the cupcakes were lemon with lemon frosting. ☺
